Last night in Manti

This has been an experience like none other. I'll be sad to leave, but I'm kinda excited for the adventures that await me in Houston. My cousins and aunt have been the BEST and I hope to visit them soon again...but next time, I'll have to bring a pig something for my aunt--she LOVES them! Well, I'd go on and on, but I gotta get packing...leaving tomorrow. *sighs talk to y'all later!

And end with a song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKh3wF7DBPk

Dearest Great Grandma Goble~

I will miss you greatly. "There's so much more than me." I have the common cold. My back tightened up so I could barely walk. But I'll never behold thy face in this life again. I can't wait until that day when I finally will see your face again. "God Be With You 'Til We Meet Again." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjrWu5K4u8s

Love forever,

Greatness

Okay, so I'm definitely not Shakespeare's biggest fan, but when he has something that is actually worthwhile listening to, I feel like I should share it. So here's a quote for today:

"Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them." ~William Shakespeare

If you haven't experienced this 'greatness' go look for it! It'll be thrusted upon you! Just like in Matthew 21:22-- And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
So go ahead! Ask! And Shakespeare wasn't crazy to say "Be not afraid."

Update from Utah!!:)

So I'm finally here! I've been here for about a week now...basically what I've done...hmmm...chill with my cousins Katy and Jake, and of course my loverly aunt Rene, and Jake's friends that are here almost every day. They all make fun of my accent! :( they're like, "Wait-- you're from Wisconsin, I mean WisCANsin? hahaha!" and I'm just like,"Shut. Up." And I occaisionally throw pillow's at their faces...specifically this one kid Bryant. Oh, and did I mention the CATS?! And that I'm allergic to cats?! They have FIVE! Holyyyy cowww! The other day, my cousin Katy was holding one of them, and I just went to softly pet it for a bit, and she freaked out! I was like, "It's fine! haha." Then a couple nights ago, I decided to sleep on the living room couch...bad idea. The next morning I woke up with wickedly irritable red eyes, and I'm such a wimp/retard that I couldn't even put in my own eye drops, so I go up to my Aunt Rene, and I'm like..."ehem...Do you mind doing these for me?...haha..." Oh, and yesterday, I took a bike ride. Best. Bikeride. Ever!! I could see the temple here EVERYWHERE! It was so awesome! :))) So that's it for now. [: I love my new life in Manti. I'll probably put up pictures soon...when I pick it up from Rene's parent's...ya I'm really lame haha.
Peace!

Cinco de Mayo!!

Well, I don't know about you guys, but this makes me SO FREAKING EXCITED! yayyayyay! c: tehe. I love Spanish-related holidays! For those of you actually reading this (which hopefully after my status on facebook last night, I might get a bit more traffic here...we shall see) that don't know what Cinco de Mayo is, it is today, the 5th of May, and I have taken the liberty of putting it in simple terms for y'all from the following website: http://www.kiddyhouse.com/Holidays/Cinco/

WHAT IS CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION ABOUT ?

Cinco de Mayo is not an American Holiday but it is celebrated on a much larger scale by Chicanos in the U.S. than in Mexico. In Mexico, the celebration of Independence Day is considered more important. Cinco de Mayo is the celebration of the courage of the Mexican people during the battle (La Batalla de Puebla) on May 5th, 1862 where 4,500 Mexican soldiers defeated the Mexican traitors (exiled Mexican Convervatives) and French army of 6,500 at Puebla, Mexico . Puebla is 100 miles east of Mexico City. The Mexican forces were made up of untrained commoners. This victory did not win the war but it showed the courage and strength of the Mexican troops. The "Batalla de Puebla" became a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism.

For those of you not understanding the term Chicanos, they are basically Mexican-Americans. Some of you may not know about this, but California and more of the west, even including Texas (in Spanish Tejas) use to not be part of the United States, and once it did become a part of the States, there were still some natives there, and they have been called Chicanos henceforth. mkay thnxbye.

1 Samuel 16:7

"But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

This is dedicated to my beautiful roommate Shannon. I <3 her. Remember, when dealing with others, think of how their personality, not necessarily their looks, are attractive. After all, plastic surgeries could end up looking like this:

Nobody wants a face like that. ew. Try as you might, nothing will ever turn out perfect if you think that there is so much better to you than what you have. "Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough." ~Oprah Winfrey. Even Oprah knows what she's talking about.

Well I hope that works out.

My dear new friend Sharon is having roommate troubles. I definitely know what that is like: it was a big chunk of my life last semester. She was knocking on my bedroom door, and I thought it was my other roommate, Amanda, who was the only other one home. I say, "you can come in" and the door opens to Sharon. She says that her roommates are ignoring her and she feels like she is "swimming in the drama." I told her I know exactly what she means, and that I lived like that last semester. I have another open bed in my room, so I said, "If you need to move out, I can make room for you", and she had the face of a person that had never been so relieved. She said, "really?" and I made her feel welcome, and told her that it'd be a little hard, cuz I liked the space that I had, but I could make room for her, and it wouldn't be too hard, because I did share with someone last semester (plus, this would probably help me get to bed earlier...haha, I tend to just stay up reading until like 2:30 a.m. nearly every night). So I emailed, per Sharon's request, our head resident, Mayerling, and told her that I am willing to let Sharon in, and help with smoothing things over. I know her roommates, and I can talk to them, so I told her that I would also be willing to talk to her roommates to help resolve this problem, if possible. :s I'm worried for Sharon. kthnxbye.
